2023 Musical Theater Project
Theatrical Artist’s Prep in partnership with the Union County Performing Arts Center presents, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND JR.
Our 4 week summer conservatory is held at the newly remodeled, state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance facilities at the Hamilton Stage located in Rahway, NJ.
Learn the art of Musical Theater by doing it! We are MORE than just a show.
Our super fun and rigorous daily camp schedule is perfect for the dedicated musical theater kid. Under the instruction of T.A.P. coaches and guest instructors/industry professionals, students will play theater games, receive 3 classes in various areas of study (Acting, Dance, Voice), 1 specialty workshop, and participate in company rehearsal daily. Campers will audition and rehearse their fully designed production of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND JR.

CLASSES:
Dance - Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and Hip Hop techniques are necessary skills for performing in musical theater.
Music - A skilled voice teacher and accompanist teach campers safe vocal technique as well as song interpretation.
Acting - Improvisation, creative dramatics, theater games and scene study.

On Camera acting for film, television, and commercials
Audition workshops with talent agent and managers
Masterclasses with industry professionals (Broadway, film and TV performers / Directors, casting directors, talent agents/managers)

Instructors generously work with you, giving you feedback and adjustments to your on-camera performance. Students will end the session with an understanding of framing, proper eyeline, hitting marks, creating the space and the many different types of on-camera mediums (feature film, episodic, sitcom, and different types of commercial tones). Build or further develop a strong foundation for truthful, spontaneous, moment-to-moment acting.

Singer/Songwriter Camp & Class
Have you ever wanted to write and perform your own songs? Love Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Ed Sheeran? In this one week, half-day camp, learn how to write a song step by step, from beginning to end! Students will learn how to write their own lyrics and play popular chord progressions on piano. Through exploring different genres of music and discussing their own influences, students will develop their unique musical voice. This camp culminates in a coffee house style performance (Date & location TBD).

Glee Club Camp
Perfect for fans of Pitch Perfect and Glee! Song and dance unite in this one week, half-day camp. Students will learn a medley of pop songs and build ensemble singing skills such as harmonization, blend, and beatboxing. Fun and exciting group choreography will be taught to take their performance to the next level for the ultimate glee club experience! The session will culminate in a local performance (Date & Location TBD).
