All Group Classes run September through June.

  • Teen Production Program

    (ages 12-17) By audition only. Students build their resume in our seasonal mainstage productions. This program culminates in a musical complete with a set and costumes at the Hamilton Stage (Rahway, NJ). Students will audition, rehearse, and continue to hone their acting skills all while making friends and further building their confidence. Unlike a weekly drop off class, this program operates on a traditional rehearsal schedule. Actors will only be called to rehearsal when scenes/songs are being staged that pertain to their character.

  • Youth Production Program

    (ages 8-12) All students will be cast. Students build their resume in our seasonal mainstage productions. This production class culminates in a junior musical complete with a set and costumes at Hamilton Stage (Rahway, NJ).   • Musical Theater Minis

    (ages 5-7) Introducing creative drama activities to students ages 4-6 through dance, creative play/movement, props and costumes. Class consists of theater games and storytelling activities that build confidence and self awareness, develop speaking skills (vocabulary, projection and diction), enhance focus, and encourage collaboration in a group setting.

  • Musical Theater I

    (ages 7-9) This process driven class is an age appropriate intro to Musical Theatre, focusing on skill and technique development. Claas consists of basic singing technique, creative movement, storytelling through musical theatre games and exercises, improv, and intro to blocking/theater etiquette. Class culminates in an informal parent demonstration. Additional performance opportunities are available to TAP students throughout the year to help hone skills.

  • Musical Theater II

    (ages 10-12) Students will expand their knowledge and performance skills in this process driven Musical Theatre class. Students will further Develop singing technique, song interpretation, characterization techniques, emotional expression, and dancing skills with a focus on ensemble work and small group performances. Class culminates in an informal parent demonstration. Additional performance opportunities are available to TAP students throughout the year to help hone skills.

  • Musical Theater III

    (ages 13-17) Students will continue to expand their knowledge and performance skills in this process driven Musical Theatre class. Students will further Develop singing technique, song interpretation, characterization techniques, emotional expression, and dancing skills with a focus on effectively telling a story through lyric and movement as well as a connecting to their material truthfully. Class culminates in an informal parent demonstration. Additional performance opportunities are available to TAP students throughout the year to help hone skills.

    September - June

  • Scene Study & Improv Games I

    (ages 7-9) Students improve their acting skills with improv and scene study! Class consists of intro to blocking/theater etiquette, intro to scene study, and theater exercises and games that expand character range, boost creativity, and enhance teamwork. Storytelling activities build confidence and self awareness, develop speaking skills (vocabulary, projection and diction), enhance focus, and encourage collaboration in a group setting. Class culminates in an informal parent demonstration. Additional performance opportunities are available to TAP students throughout the year to help hone skills.

  • Scene Study & Improv Games II & III

    (ages 10-12 & 12-17) Class consists of improv games and theater exercises that focus on freeing up the imagination, expanding your "character" repertoire, making creative choices, listening and reacting, working as a team player, handling nerves ("stage fright"), "giving gifts" to your partners, thinking on your feet and so much more. Storytelling activities build confidence and self awareness, develop speaking skills (vocabulary, projection and diction), enhance focus, and encourage collaboration in a group setting. Class culminates in an informal parent demonstration. Additional performance opportunities are available to TAP students throughout the year to help hone skills.

    September - June

  • Acting For TV/Film

    Instructors generously work with students, giving them feedback and adjustments to their on-camera performance. Students walk away with an understanding of framing, proper eyeline, hitting marks, creating the space and the many different types of on-camera mediums (feature film, episodic, sitcom, and different types of commercial tones). Build or further develop a strong foundation for truthful, spontaneous, moment-to-moment acting.
